Rule of Thirds

The Rule of Thirds is an assignment where the subject has to be in the on of the four corners of the grid if you put it on the picture. I tried using different angles to get the right picture. I also tried to use light and dark and intensify the contrast on picnik.com. Enjoy!

  1. Really great set of photos - I love all of the color, llighting, and contrast in each of the photos. I think you completed the assignment very well, maybe you didn't need the pictures of just the cement floor.

  2. These are some great photos. I love that you used both color and black and white, it made certain things stand out a lot better. I think that your set is fantastic, and I love the picture of the table and chairs.

  3. I think you did a good job following the assignment but I think you might have not so many photos that were similar, i.e. the cement /ground ones. My favorite one is the first one. I think you did a really good job.

  4. I think the editing you did to these photos makes them that much stronger. All of the photos were great, and you did the assignment well. I think maybe if you took a very more varied photos not just of the same thing they would be even better!!

  5. These are nice intense photos. It's cool how you played with the contrast but I think you should be careful in not over doing the contrast because then you loose all the mid tones which add depth. Nice Job!

  6. Great photos! I love what you did with the contrast in black and white and the intensity of the colors in the colored photos. I especially like the two of Drew looking up! they make me feel a little dizzy and disoriented. They're really interesting to look at! Your images do a great job of supporting your statement!

  7. cute and corky set of pictures. They show your personality behind them and have a cartoon effect. I do not think they are all the rule of thirds, but the ones that are are very noticeable. For example, the third one.

  8. I think one of my favorite parts about your set is that you used a lot of objects - tape, chalk, people, etc - that wouldn't normally be there, and this gave a really nice flow to your photos. you used the rule of thirds very nicely and I especially like your first photo with the table and chairs. In some of your landscape and architecture photos the division can become blurred, but overall this is quite impressive and a really good job.
